USA | Week 2 | The desert

30 November, 2016   by elias

Starting from our campground in Yosemite at 6 am in the morning, we drove the Tioga Pass towards Death Valley, passing small places like Independece, Toms place and Lone Pine. We had a long drive ahead of us, descending more than 9000 ft in just a few hours.

Independence, California.

Badwater Basin, Death Valley.

Zion National Park

Near Wahweap on the border between Utah and Arizona.

We did the Lower Antelope Canyon, with our guide Mr. Roc Rock (Yes, apparently his real name)

After a night in Page, we drove towards the next big stop – Grand Canyon. Fabian had hyped this place so we had sky high expectations that was immediately met by the stunning vast landscapes that were nothing like we could’ve imagined. We stayed up to watch the sunset, and went back to the rim in the early morning to catch the sunrise as well.

Watching the sun set.

USA | Week 3 | Back to the coast

29 November, 2016   by elias

We actually spent a night in Las Vegas too but I didn’t have a single picture from those 24h, so we’re starting off on the road to Joshua Tree National Park instead.

The evening light in Joshua tree was just amazing. We camped at Jumbo Rocks right in the center of the park, which offered a lot of privacy thanks to the natural bulky landscape, although there are more than 100 campsites on the ground. There’s no running water or electricity in the park which was nice for a change.

Back to the coast and San Diego. Yep, that’s me.

San Elijo State Beach where we camped for two days.

This late summer, I had the honor of shooting Anna & Richard’s beautiful wedding on the Swedish west coast.
